Shari Wilson, FNP-C

Shari Wilson, FNPC, grew up in Clute, Texas, with her parents and four sisters. Today, she enjoys a fulfilling life with her husband and their three children. Shari’s upbringing was filled with sports, inspired by her family’s legacy in women’s fastpitch softball. Her grandfather started the sport in Freeport, Texas, and Shari’s mother and aunts were actively involved, sparking her passion for athletics from an early age.

Outside of her professional life, Shari has a vibrant array of hobbies, including traveling, tending to her plants, enjoying wine, hunting, and caring for her cows and dogs. She finds joy in entertaining friends and family, where gatherings often revolve around food, drinks, and shared laughter. Despite her love for many outdoor activities, Shari is not fond of boats or being on the water! She deeply values compassion, kindness, and hard work, guided by the belief that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.

Shari’s educational journey began at Brazosport College right after high school, but life took a different turn when she started her family, putting her studies on hold until 2007. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Alvin Community College in 2009, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2013 from Grand Canyon University. In 2019, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas

Shari’s drive to become a Family Nurse Practitioner was fueled by her desire to form lasting relationships with patients and give back to her community. She holds several certifications, including Advanced Practice Nurse, ACLS, BLS, wound care, and Botox/filler training.

Beginning her nursing career in 2009, Shari gained experience in MedSurg, OR, Infection Control, and Endoscopy. In 2019, she transitioned to a Nurse Practitioner role with a primary focus on Primary and Urgent Care. Throughout her career, Shari has learned from both positive and challenging experiences, each shaping her approach to patient care.

One of the most rewarding aspects of her career is witnessing patients achieve their health goals, knowing she played a role in their journey. Shari is passionate about helping underserved populations and strives to provide care for those who may not have easy access to healthcare. A standout moment in her career was when her decision to run additional tests on a young patient led to the discovery of a lifethreatening heart condition, ultimately saving his life

Shari’s approach to patient care is rooted in relentless compassion and building strong relationships with her patients and their families. She believes in empowering patients through education, giving them the tools they need to take control of their health. Shari is known for her honest and direct communication style, which helps her build trust and rapport with those under her care
